I have my own server, I've installed the software, I'm in total control. Why do people do this? Do I think that I have some unique message that will be heard through the lowest barrier-to-entry publishing system ever created? Do I have a target audience? What is my specialty? Computer Programming? Politics? The drunken carousings of the few remaining SF yuppies?
I suppose in the end, I just need somewhere to put the witty descriptions of photos of my friends so I have an answer when my folks want to know how things are going.
